I am probably late to this party, but I have just come across her work. Miranda July is a wonderful artist who uses performance, spoken word and a lot of other cool things as her media. if you don’t know who I am talking about, go check her out!

From street level it’s hard to get a good view of the Empire State Building, too many of its smaller siblings block your view.  Either you are too close and you can’t get a sense of the amazing size and heighth or so far away it’s another silhouette on the skyline.

Last summer I was in a small bulding across Fifth Ave. from the Empire State Building. I wandered out on the roof and had this marvelous view. I was only 12 stories off the ground, but it made a difference.

This is a recent spread from an ongoing comics project. The main character, Allie, crosses paths with a tiger. This takes place in an abandoned, overgrown New York City in the very near future.
