Found this in a drawer, it was my Grandmother’s. A wonderful lady, remembered the sinking of the Titanic. Page size is 2 5/8″x 3 /3/4″. I am making drawings in it of the people in my life.

These were in cafés.

Recently I was at lunch at Cafe Ruhlmann at Rockefeller Center. On the way out I grabbed what I thought was a pack of matches. But it was something else; a small notepad. Perhaps this is what a clever restaurant supply company devised to try to survive the bland non-smoking utopia that we are all facing. On the outside it does look just like a pack of matches.

I really like it. I’ve never drawn so small before.
